I've had problems with my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalling at stop sign, but now this weekend on an out of town road trip it stalled out on me 5 times while traveling interstate 81 to up state New York. When this happens I lose power steering and brakes, I almost slammed into a guardrail one of the times, another one of the times I was in the passing lane and was almost hit by a 18 wheel truck. Chrysler needs to do something about theses issues. People work hard for their money and take pride in their vehicles. I've already spent hundreds of $$ on this issue at my local dealer w no results. Please help. I'm going brokers and losing faith with jeep. Thanks

My 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee just shuts down while I am driving on the freeway or street with no warning or flashing lights. This is terrifying and dangerous and surprised I have not had an accident yet. Chrysler should recall the front control module and total interpreted power module.

engin shuts down when decelerating to come to a stop / slow
I GOT THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE RE THE IGNITION SWITCH. TOOK THE JEEP TO THE DEALER WHO MADE THE MODIFICATIONS TO THE IGNITION SWITCH, OSTENSIBLE TO PREVENT THE SWITHCH FROM BEING ACCIDENTALLY TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM AS TODAY THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN AS I WAS SLOWING TO APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH TO EXIT AN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLED GATE. THIS WAS AFTER I HAD JUST SPENT $132.00 ON A "REPAIR " OF A MICRO RELAY. AGAIN THIS FOLLOWED THE "SAFETY RECALL" CORRECTION TO THE IGNITION SWITCH -- WHICH WAS MADED 11/27/2015.
FIAT CHRYSLER CORP HAS A SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING THE IGNITION BEYOND THE IGNITION SWITCH MODIFICATIONS THEY MADE. THE WHOLE IGNITION SWITCH MAY NEED TO BE CHANGED NOT JUST MODIFIED.

This was first diagnosed up in Rairdon Chrysler-Jeep in Bellingham. The M-B Diesel engine in our Jeep started to stall and run really slow. We took it to the dealer and they said it was a "swirl valve" problem and would cost $2,700. I initially did not believe that. How could a M-B diesel engine, that is basically indestructible, cost that much to fix? So, we lived with the problem.
The car is a hazard to drive since usually in traffic you can't merge safely. We are forced to drive it though. Today we took it to the local dealer in north Seattle and they now say it will cost $5,200 to fix the swirl valve problem. I said why? They said the Jeep has a "redesign" for the intake manifolds and that's why it will cost more to fix. I thanked them for their diagnosis but declined to have it fixed. Heck, the car is worth about $7,000 wholesale.
This engine was not designed correctly from the beginning. I wonder if M-B is having a similar problem with their other diesels. There HAS to be others out there and because there are so few diesels out there, it may not come up on NHTSA's radar screen. Nonetheless, it is still a major problem for those of us who own them. I was driving with my 2 children in the car. I was driving about 30 mph when all of a sudden, the car lost all power. The steering and brakes did not work. I coasted into a parking lot. The steering was then usable but only manually and very difficult to steer. I had to apply the parking brake to stop from rolling backwards. I could not put the car into park, nor move the key to the off position for about 10 minutes.
After calling for a tow truck, I was able to put the car into park, and remove the key. I was also able to start the car. I was going to go on the expressway, and am fortunate I was only on a frontage road when this happened. The car was completely disabled/locked up. Had I been on the expressway going 70 mph, with my kids in the car, it could have been awful. MORE SO, I found out the car has an open recall for the exact thing that happened to the car.
I have contacted the Chrysler call center and was able to talk to someone who said the replacement part was not yet available. I was told someone would get back to me regarding the incident, yet, no one has called back. I have tried to contact the call center but there is now a recording claiming because of a high call volume, callers are to call back at a different time. This has been going on for 1 week now. I am not going to drive on the expressway because of what could happen. I do not trust the car and am disgusted in the failure to resolve the issue. Chrysler/Jeep has a HUGE issue on their hands and needs to resolve the problem before anyone is killed.

My car has been stalling and randomly stalls and shuts off.
I have taken it to two different CHRYSLER dealers. The first dealer took over $300 and did not fix one thing. But the service manager told me it was fixed for all reasons that it came in for. Which was untrue. I left the dealer and it stalled 4 miles during the road. I called to tell them and they have not to this day (over 3 weeks) returned my calls. The manager there would NOT tell me that my car was safe to drive. I asked repeatedly and the manager would only say "we have fixed it for all the reasons for which you brought it here". Well, they had it for 17 days and did NOTHING. She was sure to tell me that her manager would be covering all the extra costs incurred but could NOT tell me that it was safe to drive.
Secondly, I took it to another dealer, because the first one would not return my calls or tell me my car was safe to drive after they had worked on it. After 13 days, the manager there thought he had fixed it. I had come back 2 days after dropping it off, paid over $500 and it stalled again, came back almost 5 days, paid some more and it stalled again. Came back in 13 days and we test drove it. Nothing seemed wrong. I paid another lump sum of over $600 and it stalled as I was backing out of the parking lot.
The service manager recommended I drive it to see if it was a fluke accident that it stalled.... Since then it has stalled four more times today.
I have called the attorney general, a Chrysler customer service rep, and a case manager. The case manager never returns my calls, never has any new information, and does not have an explanation as to why the first dealer refuses to give me ANY PAPERWORK.

My car has been in the shop 9 times since the end of February 2013 for stalling. Each time they dealership had my car anywhere from several days to over 45 days trying to fix the problem. They have changed numerous sensors and parts and have still not been able to fix the problem. This last time they finally decide and they cannot figure it out and said not to bring it back because they don't know what is causing it. Initially the stalling only happened when I was stopped for a light then each time I took it back to change another sensor the stalling became more often and now happens even while i'm driving my car and I have come close to being rear ended while drive. The last time it stalled I was turning a corner, it stalled and a car behind me almost hit me. The man driving the car got angry, jumped out of his car and came to my car window and brought his fist back to hit me. I drove my car straight to the dealership where the service manager said I would have my car back the next day because they had parts in stock. well over 45 days later I finally got it back only for them to tell me they cant figure out why its stalling so not to bring it back again. My understanding is that this has been a known problem, if so why are they selling automobiles that they know have a serious defect they can cause and accident.

The repair shops are saying that I need to replace the TIPM Totally Integrated Power Module. And they are back ordered all over the country. No car for at least a week, maybe more. So expensive, not sure how we are going to afford this, but ordered part.
